Federal Grants
Federal Pell Grant
A Pell Grant, unlike a loan, does not have to be repaid
since it is a need-based federal grant. Students may apply
for the Pell Grant by completing the Application for
Federal Student Aid, which is available online
(www.fafsa.ed.gov), in the financial aid office, or from
the distant learning center financial aid assistant. The
number of course hours is a part of the formula for
figuring this grant as well as the student’s total family
income. Additional verification requirements may be
requested by the financial aid office.
Federal Supplemental Educational
Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
FSEOG is a need-based federal grant program designed
to aid students with financial needs beyond Pell Grant
stipends. Contact the Financial Aid Office for eligibility
requirements and the application process.
Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (LEAP)
LEAP is a need-based state grant program designed to
provide educational assistance to residents of Georgia
who demonstrate substantial financial need to attend
eligible postsecondary institutions in Georgia.

Loan Information
Educational loans are an investment in one’s self for the future.
Did you know that a college graduate is projected to earn a minimum of a
million dollars above what a person without an education will earn?
Potential earnings are certainly an incentive, but even more
powerful is the ability to be able to CHOOSE what career path you will utilize
to earn a living for yourself. Becoming an educated person puts you in
the position of making the choice.
