Admission Requirements
Acceptance is based upon the student having successfully graduated from a regionally or
state accredited institution or upon having successfully completed the General Educational Development (GED) test battery.
The GMC Placement Exam is administered to all entering/first time freshmen except those scoring a minimum of 450 on the verbal SAT
and 450 on the math SAT or an 18 or higher English and 18 or higher Math on the ACT. Transfer students who have not completed ENG 101 and/or MAT 109 at their previous institutions will also be
required to take the GMC Placement Exam. Students identified on placement tests as needing additional assistance will be required to
take certain developmental courses.
Georgia Military College reserves the right to investigate and review the records of any
student to determine the applicant's academic, moral, and psychological fitness to enroll.
First-time Freshmen - Students who have never attended a college must furnish GMC the following:
- A completed application with the non-refundable application fee of $35.00.
- An official copy of the high school transcript showing date of graduation or official copy of equivalency certificate based upon General Educational Development (GED) scores.
- Home-schooled student applicants must submit a combined SAT score of 920 or ACT composite score of 19 in addition to a transcript reflecting the course work completed, an abbreviated bibliography of textbooks and/or assigned readings and a writing sample.

Transfer Students - Students who have attended any other college must furnish GMC the following:
- A completed application with the non-refundable application fee of $35.00.
- An official transcript from each college or university attended.
- Official documents for service schools, College Level Examination Program (CLEP) General Subjects examinations, USAFI/DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support) examinations, etc.
- Financial aid transcripts from any post-secondary institution previously attended.
- Proof of good academic standing at the last school attended with the conditions of attendance at that school.

Transient Students - Students attending another college but enrolled in one or more courses must furnish GMC the following:
- A completed application with non-refundable application fee of $35.00.
- A transient permission letter or copy of Serviceman's Opportunity College (SOC) agreement from parent institution and, for veterans only, proof of enrollment certification from parent college.
